Federal Funding for transit operations​

In 2024, Georgia Congressman introduced a bill to provide $80 billion in transit operations funding across the United States. While several Bay Area Congressmembers originally were co-sponsors of the bill, Congressmembers Swalwell, Khanna, Thompson, Eshoo, Garamendi, and Panetta did not. Transbay Coalition and our allies mobilized hundreds of Bay Area residents to speak out and built local coalitions urging the Congressmembers to co-sponsor the bill and in the end Congressmembers Swalwell, Khanna, and Garamendi joined in.!
