Stop the widenings of Highway 101 and Interstate 28

San Mateo and San Francisco County Transportation Leaders are considering widening Highway 101 and Interstate 280 and we are urging them to stop spending taxpayer money on widening our largest highways. Highway widening is a waste of money as it doesn’t reduce congestion and it increases traffic, potholes, air pollution, climate change, and competition for public transit. We are asking them to instead prioritize taxpayer transportation funding for filling potholes, making our streets safer, and making public transit more convenient, cleaner, safer, and more affordable.
